Modes Of Silence

17-04-2011

Silence is one of the great arts of conversation, as allowed by Cicero himself, who says, 'there is not only an art, but an eloquence in it.' A well bred woman may easily and effectually promote the most useful and elegant conversation without speaking a word. The modes of speech are scarcely more variable than the modes of silence.

Dream On Dreamer

16-04-2011

Dream on dreamer, starchild
Open your mind carefully
Dream on dreamer, ride home
Dreamshades changing endlessly

Enter worlds no one has seen
All at your command in your dreams

Sinking deeper, letting go
Let the story take you in
Dream on dreamer, fly home
Let the dream of dreams begin

Enter worlds no one has seen
All at your command in your dreams

Talking During Sex

15-04-2011

There's this whole talking-during-sex business, I mean, what are we doing here? The question is... does the talking really improve the sex? Or is the sex act now just there to spice up the conversation? Eventually, I'm sure people will get too lazy even for phone sex, they'll just start having phone machine sex. "Yeah, I want you really bad, just leave it on the tape." Then I guess, the phone company will come out with sex waiting. That'll be the new thing. "Yeah, hold on honey, I got another call.Oh, I baby, just one second. Honey, I've got to take this. Yeah, I've got sex waiting on the other line and I've got to take this."

True Gentleness

13-04-2011

"True gentleness is founded on a sense of what we owe to him who made us and to the common nature which we all share. It arises from reflection on our own failings and wants, and from just views of the condition and duty of man. It is native feeling heightened and improved by principle."

Lugar Nenhum

12-04-2011

Acordo em lugar nenhum
Apanho a roupa do chão
Em solidão
Dá-me a tua mão
Ó sonho meu

Lá fora o sol encandeia
Aqui em lugar nenhum
Ficou no pó
Uma marca só
Doutro sonho meu

Eu nunca sei bem onde estou
Se estou sozinho
Às voltas em lugar nenhum
Eu já não sei ir pra casa

Há-de ser
Sempre assim
Belo princípio
Triste fim

Hoje já é amanhã
Amanhã foi ontem
Às voltas em lugar nenhum
Eu já só quero é ir pra casa
Eu já só quero é ir pra casa

Todas as histórias que eu sei
Acabam em lugar nenhum
Em solidão dá-me a tua mão
Ó sonho meu

Há-de ser
Sempre assim
Belo princípio
Triste fim

Hoje é já amanhã
Amanhã foi ontem
Às voltas em lugar nenhum
Eu já só quero é ir pra casa
Eu já só quero é ir pra casa

Give Me A Kiss

11-04-2011

Alvy Singer: Hey listen, gimme a kiss.
Annie Hall: Really?
Alvy Singer: Yeah, why not, because we're just gonna go home later, right, and then there's gonna be all that tension, we've never kissed before and I'll never know when to make the right move or anything. So we'll kiss now and get it over with, and then we'll go eat. We'll digest our food better.

Maturity
